The ballot papers will grant the right for up to 3 votes.
The members of the Academy of Nations will meet every 2 years to elect a new board. Previously elected board members cannot be re-elected to the new, 10-member (2 presidents, plus 8 members) administration.
Voting will take place at the WORLD CENTRE OF HUMAN RIGHTS (Themidos Mansion).
Academy presidents, or the entire board, can only be deprived of office, following a censure motion by at least 3 Academy members and, subsequently, a secret vote, with a majority of more than half the Academy members plus one.
In the event that the censure motion is carried, the outgoing president, or the outgoing board, will hand over the administration to the new board, within 5 days. During that period, a new president, or new board members, must be elected.
The term of the new president, or the new board, will be the equivalent to the time remaining before the expiry of the outgoing administration’s original term.
During the entire period of the Academy president’s term of office, he or she will not have the right to participate directly or indirectly in any kind of commercial, industrial or other business, or body, in Greece or abroad.
The member with the most votes will preside over the board for the first two years, while the runner-up (deputy president) will take the chair for the second two years. During the first president’s term, the deputy president will participate in the board only as an observer, without the right to vote.
